15 injured, tension rises ahead of Edo APC rally There was tension in Benin, the Edo State capital on Thursday, over a rally that a faction of the All Progressives Congress loyal to its National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, will hold today. The Oshiomhole faction will today (Friday) hold a rally for a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Osagie Eze-Iyamu. Ahead of the rally, 15 people were injured during a clash between supporters of Oshiomhole and those of the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki. The APC in Edo State had, last month, been factionalised with one group  loyal to Oshiomhole and  the other backed by Obaseki. The Oshiomhole  faction led by Col David Imuse (retd.), said Friday’s  rally was being organised by the party to receive the PDP candidate in the 2016 governorship election, Ize Iyamu. FG suspends Turkish Airlines operations into Nigeria The Federal Government has ordered Turkish Airlines to suspend its operations into Nigeria due to repeated cases of poor passenger treatment by the international carrier. It gave the directive through the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, directing the airline to suspend its operations until it was ready to operate with the right size of aircraft that could transport all passengers with their baggage at the same time.     It was gathered that the government’s directive came as a result of recent cases in which the airline failed to bring in passengers into Nigeria together with their checked-in baggage. In a letter to the airline by the acting Director-General, NCAA, Capt. Abdullahi Sidi, which was made available by the Federal Ministry of Aviation in Abuja on Thursday, the authority expressed displeasure at the incidents, which it said had been going on for over two weeks. Buhari’s kinsmen attack Aisha over Villa crisis  Kinsmen of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), have faulted his wife, Aisha, over her Wednesday’s statement, which attacked the  Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu. The kinsmen in Daura, in separate exclusive interviews with the Kastina State correspondent of The PUNCH,  on Wednesday evening, berated Mrs Buhari for making what they called a purely  private family affair, public. Nigeria listed among ‘Top-20 improves in Doing Business for the year 2020’          An annual report published by the World Bank has listed Africa’s largest economy country, Nigeria, among the top 20 improves in doing business. The recent World Bank projection is for the year 2020. Only five African countries – Nigeria, Togo, Zimbabwe, Djibouti and Kenya – made list. The report is an annual publication that measures business regulations across 190 countries.     Nigeria made a giant leap of more than 100 positions as it was ranked 146 in 2018 report. According to the report the jump can be attributed to major improvement in significant parameters such as starting a business, dealing with construction permits, resolving insolvency, getting electricity, credit, among others. UNGA: Buhari travels to New York Sunday             President Muhammadu Buhari is to leave Abuja on Sunday for New York to join other world leaders at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 72). The President’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said this in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday.    Adesina said the President would during the visit, participate in the General Debate where he was expected to deliver the country’s National Statement.
